Open the ignition switch, anti-theft device lights flashed off, anti-theft device is no fault. If the engine can not start, first select the address 01, read the engine computer stored fault code (02 function). If there is a fault code 17978, the engine control is "blocked" and a fault associated with the anti-theft device appears.
Initial fault identification:

The above situation can not start the engine, you can use V.A.G1551 read fault code. Before reading the fault code, first check all the fuse, should be intact. And then check the battery voltage, the normal value should not be less than 11.5V.
As with the previous operation of reading the fault code, connect V.A.G1551. Select the anti-theft device address 25, and then the fault code to read (02 function), record the fault code. Then ends (06 function). After troubleshooting, also clear the fault code (06 function).
The stored faults are divided into permanent and contingent. When the fault persists for more than 2s, it is recognized as a permanent fault; when a permanent fault is no longer occurring for more than 2s in the ignition switch, it is recognized as a temporary fault and "SP" is displayed on the right side of the display.
A temporary fault must be off the engine after starting 50 times, no longer appear, will be automatically cleared.
